The appointment of Yitzhak Amit as President of the Supreme Court will be published in Reshumot.
The High Court judges' ruling stated: "At the court's recommendation, the parties agreed, including through non-objection on the part of Respondent 1 (Yariv Levin), that the appointment of Justice Yitzhak Amit as President of the Supreme Court will be announced as soon as possible by the Director of the Courts, Justice Tzachi Uziel.".
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Yariv Levin sharply attacked the High Court of Justice in response to the demand that it recognize the appointment of Yitzhak Amit as President of the Supreme Court: "The attempt to force me to recognize Amit has failed again. The High Court judges themselves convened the committee for the selection of judges in an illegal order they issued and 'appointed' Amit themselves, and now they are also publishing his 'appointment' in Reshumot.".
""None of this will change the simple fact - his 'appointment' was made through an illegal and fundamentally invalid process. I do not recognize an illegal appointment and will not recognize it.".
