The Hatem al-Anbiya Command, the coordinating body between the Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guards, announced today (Monday) that the military operation against Israel has ended.
But at the same time, it posed a new threat, according to which any further Israeli attack on Lebanon would lead to a harsh Iranian response.
The official statement claimed that the attacks carried out by Iran came in response to Israeli activity in southern Lebanon and in Dahiyya, Beirut.
The statement said: "A painful response was given to the regime and the operation was stopped. Following the crimes and disturbances of the brutal Zionist regime in southern Lebanon and the Dahiyya region, which were supported by criminal America, the powerful armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in support of the oppressed people of Lebanon, gave a painful response to this regime, a response from which the fake Zionist regime and its supporters should learn a lesson.".
The statement further stated: "We announce the cessation of the armed forces' operations, but emphasize that in the event of the continuation of crimes and disturbances, including in southern Lebanon, more severe and stronger measures will be taken than before.".
Political commentator Amit Segal wrote:
""Below are the equations -
Hezbollah - If Israel attacks in southern Lebanon, we will attack Kiryat Shmona
Israel - If Kiryat Shmona is attacked, we will attack in Beirut
Iran - If Beirut is attacked, we will attack Israel
Israel - If Israel is attacked, we will attack Iran
Iran - If South Lebanon is attacked, we will attack Israel
The first four have already happened, the fifth is the important one. Its goal: to get Trump to force Israel to stop destroying Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
"Time will tell.".
The Iranian announcement comes after an escalation that has developed since last night, when Iran launched more than 20 missiles at Israel following the IDF attack on Dahiyeh in Beirut.
In response to the Iranian fire, the Air Force carried out two waves of attacks on Iranian territory. The first wave attacked air defense systems in the west and center of the country, and the second wave attacked targets in the petrochemical complex in Maheshwar in southwestern Iran.
President Donald Trump earlier wrote on Truth Social that "Israel and Iran want an immediate ceasefire." He added: "Final peace negotiations are moving forward provided stupidity or ignorance does not stand in the way.".
According to the US President, "the blockade will remain in effect, in full force and effect, until a 'final agreement' is reached. Things need to move quickly.".
