
At the end of the election process for the rabbi of the Tamar Regional Council: The Elections Committee announced today (Sunday) that Rabbi Meir Elmaleh has been elected to the position of rabbi of the Regional Council.
The election of Rabbi Elmaleh constitutes a significant milestone in establishing spiritual leadership in the Regional Council and providing accessible and high-quality religious services to all residents.
Rabbi Meir Elmaleh is a graduate of the 'Reshit Hochma' Yeshiva in Jerusalem, and is a student of the Rosh Yeshiva's head Rabbi Shabtai Aton zt"l, a member of the Shas council. He studied at the Kollel for rabbinical instruction and dayanism, was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel as a rabbi, and holds the qualifications for a regional rabbi.
He learned his way in halachic rulings from his father, Rabbi Elmaleh, Rabbi of Tel Aviv-Yafo and a member of the Grand Court.
Rabbi Elmaleh serves as the rabbi of Moshav Even Sapir in Mett Yehuda.
According to the Ministry of Religious Services, "The combination of Rabbi Elmaleh, who is connected to the world of settlement and is well-acquainted with the human mosaic of the residents of the moshavim, alongside a profound Torah background, is expected to constitute a spiritual and leadership bridge for all the shades in the Tamar Regional Council.".
Upon his election to the position, Rabbi Elmaleh thanked the head of the Regional Council, Nir Wenger, for his trust, and the Ministry of Religious Services and the ministry's Director General, Yehuda Avidan.
