Attorney Gali Baharav-Miara announced at noon (Tuesday) that she has decided to file an indictment against MK Tali Gottlieb of the Likud, in the case of revealing the identity of a Shin Bet agent - the partner of a protest activist who rose up in Ressler.

A statement issued by Rabbi Meara reads: "It has been decided to file charges against MK Tali Gottlieb for the offense of disclosing and publishing confidential information in violation of the Shin Bet law.".

A few minutes earlier, Gottlieb wrote on the X network that she had been informed by Baharav-Miara that the indictment against her had been filed.

Gottlieb wrote: "Round applause for Miara. She just announced the filing of an indictment against me following Israel Katz's signing of a confidentiality agreement.".

""As I have made clear, I intend to convince the members of the Knesset that the exposure of Bresler's partner was done within the framework and for the purpose of fulfilling my duties. As you know, I am not being terrorized.".

She added: "I haven't been sent the indictment yet, but I trust Miarah that I will read it soon to one of her superiors.".

Communications Minister Shlomo Karai responded: "Tali, you are a true warrior. Neither Rabbi Mayara nor any member of the rule of law gang can terrorize you, and we all know that.

""The only one who should be indicted for all her crimes, and will be, is the one who is deposed herself. 'Every weapon formed against you will not succeed, and every tongue will rise against you in judgment - condemn me.'".

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir: "The time has come for Riv Levin and my friends in the Likud to cross the barrier of fear in front of the Ombudsman - reform now!""

MK Gottlieb was summoned twice for police questioning, but did not appear. The Deputy State Attorney, Attorney Alon Altman, clarified to her in a letter that the Immunity Law does not allow her to avoid appearing for a criminal investigation, so her failure to appear for the investigation is considered as if she had waived her right to give a version or as if she had maintained the right to remain silent.

At the beginning of the month, Defense Minister Israel Katz signed the required confidentiality certificate, thus paving the way for the Attorney General to file the indictment in the case.

With the filing of the indictment, the legal battle is expected to move into the political arena.

Gottlieb will be able to claim parliamentary immunity and the decision on the matter will be made by a Knesset committee. Given the coalition's majority in the committee, it is likely that her immunity will be maintained and the criminal proceedings will be halted.

Commentator Amit Segal wrote: "According to the Pinhasi and Deri rule, if Gottlieb's immunity is lifted, it is highly doubtful whether she will be able to serve as a minister in the next government.".
