The chairman of Religious Zionism, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, addressed the conscription law today (Monday) at the faction meeting in the Knesset.

Is 100,000 NIS right for you before Shavuot? Last hours for the big lottery!

In his remarks, the minister set a key condition for continuing to advance the legislative outline - and made it clear to the faction members that without recruiting those whose teachings are not their art, it will not be possible to move forward in the process.

""The condition for any law must be a clear statement from the Haredi leadership, 'Anyone who does not study Torah must enlist,'" said Smotrich. "This is the minimum required to make progress in this important and necessary process.".

Continuing his remarks at the faction meeting, he moved on to discuss the political implications of the conscription law crisis on the stability of the current coalition.

The minister explicitly warned against moves that would lead to the dissolution of the Knesset or the replacement of the government at this time. In his opinion, such a step would seriously harm the national interests of the country. "I say this in the clearest terms - overthrowing the right-wing government would be a grave mistake for the State of Israel, for settlement, for security and for the Jewish identity of the country.".

He addressed his political partners directly: "I call from here to the Haredi members of Knesset - show responsibility for the State of Israel. Do not lend a hand to those who want to overthrow the right-wing government and break up the national camp.".

He emphasized: "We have huge challenges to lead the State of Israel in the coming years. If the left and the Arab supporters of terrorism come to power, God forbid, this will be a cry for generations.".
