Veteran presenter and announcer, Ravi Gadot, revealed in an interview with Roi Katz on Knesset Channel that she had previously broadcast, during Kol Yisrael broadcasts, encrypted messages to the captured navigator Ron Arad.
Is 100,000 NIS right for you before Shavuot? Last hours for the big lottery!
According to her testimony, the incident occurred in 1986 or 1987, when she began broadcasting a regular music program based on reading postcards and greetings from listeners on the Gimel network.
Gadot recalled that during the broadcast, the director of the Gimel network at the time, Gilad Ben-Shach, entered the studio and handed her two postcards with explicit instructions to the broadcaster for Ron Arad.
The principal instructed her to read the texts exactly as they were written, including any errors that appeared in them. He made it clear to her that these intentional errors were the ones that carried the encrypted messages.
Gadot said: "I don't know where it came from, whether it came from the Mossad or whether it came from the Air Force, I don't know, but I talked to the censors, they told me you can tell.".
She shared with listeners the text of one of the secret messages she read live: "Dear Ron, we are waiting for you to come home. We will make lots of toast with yellow cheese together.".

Gadot explained that the word "yellow" was actually the encrypted message within the seemingly innocent greeting.
She summarized the feelings that accompanied her during those historic moments in the studio: "It gave me chills, I read it several times, somehow like that, I swallowed it in a few songs, and I said to myself, for these moments, it's worth it for me to be on the radio.".
