The Minister of Defense sharply criticized the impending appointment, making it clear that the current step is contrary to the spirit of unity required at this time.
According to Minister Katz, Halutz has long crossed the line of legitimate criticism in his actions and public statements in recent years.
Katz: "I call on the Air Force Veterans Association to withdraw its intention to appoint Dan Halutz as president of the association. Dan Halutz, who legalized refusal and used despicable comparisons to Nazis against an Israeli prime minister, has long crossed the line of legitimate criticism and has become a dangerous, extremist and irresponsible voice - unfit to hold any position and the defense establishment will have no contact with him.".
