Patch Storm 'Messiah': Nahal fighter A will enter a 30-day prison sentence tomorrow (Sunday) morning because he stood up for a patch that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir does not like.
Is 100,000 NIS right for you before Shavuot? Last hours for the big lottery!
According to a Channel 7 report, those who are not willing to stand idly by in the face of the IDF's tyranny are the soldiers' parents, who announced this evening that they are intensifying the struggle against the scandalous decision. The parents are calling on the general public to come tomorrow at 11:00 in front of the gates of Prison 10 at the Beit Lid intersection for a protest rally against "the injustice and the terrible injustice of punishing the soldier when the heads of the refuseniks and the MP are still roaming free," along with a personal escort for the soldier and his family the moment he enters behind bars.
The incident severely damaged the morale of the company, which holds the highest operational achievements in the recent fighting in Lebanon - and there are angry people there: "They lowered the morale of all of us.".
The parents of Fighter A said this evening: "We are digesting it but are in complete shock!! We will not remain silent about this injustice.".
A member of the soldier's platoon, who fought with him in Lebanon and is currently on operational duty in Samaria, wrote in a painful post: "For you, this is the Patch storm, for us, this is our best friend. He was the heart of this family. Taking a soldier who did everything for the country, and suddenly putting him in jail for 30 days and removing him from combat? It's inhuman. It crushes him and us, and since that happened, the entire company has been shut down. The country simply erases everything from him in an instant.".
The soldiers' parents wrote: "We understand discipline, but there are patches throughout the army, in the regular and reserves. Why blame an entire phenomenon on the shoulders of a lone, innocent soldier who did what half the army does openly? There is something outrageous here on the part of the high command. The Chief of Staff leaves figures in their positions without any punishment who actively worked to dismantle the army from within, and it is precisely against a combat soldier that the most predatory punishment is applied. We will not remain silent about this.".
They added: "The struggle will not stop until justice is achieved, the name of the soldier and the entire company is cleared, and Jewish-Zionist pride and strength is restored to the fighters on the front. At this time, the people of Israel need their heroes who are upright and proud of their identity, and not under persecution and silence.".
