After the prayer, a moving halaka celebration was held for the son of Education Committee Chairman MK Zvi Sukkot and the grandson of Rabbi Hillel Lieberman, the late Rabbi, who was murdered on his way to Joseph's Tomb after abandoning it, with the participation of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and the head of the Samaria Regional Council, Yossi Dagan.
For the Sukkot MK's family, this is a personal and emotional closing of a circle, due to the fact that the groom of the Halaka celebration, the boy Hillel David, is named after his grandfather who was murdered about 26 years ago on his way to the grave. The grandfather was particularly connected to Joseph's tomb and was one of the founders of the 'Oud Yosef Chai' yeshiva in Nablus.
MK Sukkot from the Religious Zionist Party led a series of actions and initiatives in the Knesset during his term - for the return of Joseph's Tomb. Among other things, he established and heads the Joseph's Tomb Lobby, signed over 70 Knesset members demanding the return of Joseph's Tomb, and is working to permanently return the "More Joseph Lives" yeshiva to the complex.
During the event, MK Sukkot called for correcting the injustice of the abandonment of the tomb and restoring the permanent Jewish presence at the tomb.
MK Zvi Sukkot, Chairman of the Education, Culture and Sports Committee: "This morning, I am marking here at Joseph's Tomb an exciting closing of a circle for me and my family. My son Hillel David, named after his grandfather, Rabbi Hillel Lieberman, who was murdered on his way here with selfless devotion, on the day Joseph's Tomb was abandoned, is celebrating his halakhah here.
""From here we call clearly: to restore the Jewish presence and the "Oud Yosef Chai" yeshiva.".
