Sergeant Major Alexander Globenyov, 47, from Petah Tikva, who served as a lead vehicle driver, was killed in battle near the Lebanese border.
He left behind a wife and two children, including an 8-month-old baby.
The incident occurred yesterday (Sunday) at around 4:00 PM, when several explosive drones were launched from Lebanon and exploded in the country, near the border with Lebanon.
Globenyov was killed by an explosion from one of the drones.
Globenyov served as a lead vehicle driver in a transport battalion of the Transport Center, on behalf of the Technology and Logistics Department.
Globanyov was moving heavy equipment toward the outpost when the explosive drone hit him. During the same incident, several explosive drones were launched by Hezbollah into the area of the outpost.
Alexander was directly hit by an explosion from one of the drones.
He is the fourth security force member killed during the ceasefire as a result of explosive drones.
The drones were not detected by IDF systems - therefore, no alert was activated at the location where Alexander was and he did not have time to defend himself against them.
With his fall, the number of soldiers killed since the beginning of the current round of fighting in the north rose to 18.
Three reserve soldiers were injured on Tuesday when an explosive drone hit them in the Shlomi area, near the Lebanese border. One of the soldiers was seriously injured, and a reserve officer and another soldier were moderately injured.
