A man in his 40s was killed today (Sunday) in a fatal car accident between a truck and two vehicles on Highway 4711 - "The Parush Road" - near the Haredi city of Elad.

Rescue forces called to the scene evacuated two injured people to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva: a 25-year-old man in moderate condition and a 40-year-old woman in mild condition.

Unfortunately, the driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene due to the nature of the severe injuries and burns he suffered. MDA emergency medical technician Moti Farkash and MDA paramedic Matan Yarom said: "When we arrived at the scene, we saw a difficult scene, a burning vehicle after a car accident with a truck. Next to the vehicle lay an injured man, about 50 years old, unconscious with multiple systemic injuries. We performed advanced CPR on him, and in the end we were forced to declare him dead.

"In addition, we provided life-saving medical treatment and evacuated two additional injured people in moderate to mild condition to the hospital.".

Rescuers Yehuda Poris and Yechiel Goldhaber: "We arrived at a very difficult scene where we found three victims with bruises on their bodies in various states of injury, after they were involved in a road accident between a truck and private vehicles, one of which caught fire as a result of the accident.

""We performed medical examinations on a man about 50 years old, unconscious with multi-system trauma, but unfortunately, due to the nature of the examinations, the paramedics were forced to declare him dead at the scene.

""We also provided initial medical treatment, including immobilization and dressings, to two victims, a 25-year-old man with moderate injuries to his limbs, and a 40-year-old woman with minor injuries to her body, and they were evacuated to continue receiving medical treatment in the trauma room at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva.""

The police reported that Sharon Region traffic inspectors have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the serious traffic accident on Highway 4711, between Nachshonim and Elad.
