Due to abnormal fish mortality in the Sea of Galilee: The Ministry of Health has issued a special warning to the consumer public - and would like to remind you that fish should only be purchased from legally licensed stores.
The fish should be sold refrigerated and covered with ice.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that the drinking water is safe to use and there are no restrictions on bathing or recreational activities in the Sea of Galilee.
The warning was issued after thousands of dead fish were discovered in several areas in the southern Sea of Galilee earlier this week.
Following the unusual mortality, teams from the Ministry of Health, the Water Authority, and Mekorot conducted sampling of fish and water from several points.
