Prepare the air conditioners: The coming week will be characterized largely by a summery atmosphere and temperatures will be higher than the seasonal average for early-mid May.
According to the Meteorological Service, the hottest day of the week will be Tuesday, when hot conditions - not extreme - will develop with temperatures above 30 degrees in most of the country, along with dry conditions, due to southern winds in the first half of the day.
In the eastern valleys and northern Negev, temperatures will reach 40 degrees, in the lowlands 37-38 degrees, and in the mountains 33-34 degrees.
The forecast for the coming days:
Sunday: Tonight will be partly cloudy with high altitude clouds. Tomorrow will be clear to partly cloudy. There will be a slight increase in temperatures, and it will be hotter than usual in the mountains and inland. The heaviest heat loads will be felt in the eastern valleys.
Monday: Clear to partly cloudy. There will be no real change in temperatures and they will still be higher than normal for the season in the mountains and inland.
Tuesday: Partly cloudy with high altitude clouds. There will be a significant increase in temperatures. It will be very hot and the heat load will be felt in most areas of the country.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy to clear. Temperatures will drop considerably and return to normal for the season in most areas of the country. Relief from the heat load will be felt in most areas.
