The State Attorney's Office announced today (Thursday) the filing of an indictment with the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court against Yona Schreiber, for attacking a Christian nun near David's Tomb in the city, and attributed to him a place of residence in the town of Feduel.
However, this afternoon, the Samaria Regional Council clarified that an examination it conducted showed that the man was not a resident of Feduel and had never lived there.
The Samaria Regional Council emphasizes that, according to an investigation conducted with the Feduel Settlement Committee, the man's parents previously lived in the Feduel settlement - but left about a year ago, and he himself was not a resident of the settlement at any point.
They also note that a request was made to the spokeswoman for the Attorney General's Office to correct the information.
The Samaria Regional Council calls on the media outlets that published the information to update the reports and present the facts as they are.
The Samaria Regional Council said: "There is an error here that needs to be corrected. We expect the prosecutor's office spokesperson to correct it, and we call on the media to act responsibly and update the publications in accordance with the facts.""
