Naftali Bennett met yesterday in a private meeting in Bnei Brak with the leader of the movement, the Dayan Rabbi Avraham Zerbib - who called the Gaza Strip a territory - and became famous for saying: "Let's water Gaza.".
Bennett complimented him with warm words: "You are like Arik Sharon and Meir Har Zion, who changed and implemented new fighting methods.".
According to a report by Michael Shemesh this evening (Tuesday) on 'Kan Hades', Bennett, who met Rabbi Zerbiv at the high school yeshiva in Bnei Brak during a 'Fathers and Sons' meeting held by the yeshiva where his son studies, sharply attacked the torchlight ceremony and promised that "next year the ceremony will return to the people.".
Bennett's office responded: "Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett participated with his young son David in a fathers and sons evening at his school. He came to the event as a father and not as a public figure. Journalists are expected to respect his family's privacy.".
