Degel Hatorah chairman, MK Moshe Gafni, attacked the chairman of the 'Reservists' party, Yoaz Hendel, this afternoon (Tuesday), over what he called his "shocking words.".

In a statement released by his office, Gafni said: "This man is a serial fraudster, whose zigzags and reversals have already been familiar to everyone in every position he has held. Every word that comes out of his mouth is tainted with cheap interests and a desperate attempt to generate headlines.".

According to Gafni, "This is a man who grew out of political filth and disgust, and he has no idea what a Jewish people looks like and what a democratic regime looks like. The public is not buying these shows, and with such conduct, there is no political future here.".

In a recording revealed today by Avi Solomon on the 'Walla' website, Handel is heard defining the ultra-Orthodox parties as "an existential danger to the future of the state" - and presenting an extreme plan to deny the right to vote to anyone who does not serve in the army.

In the recording, Handel is heard saying: "We must not allow a situation where in 2048, the centennial of the state, there will be a non-Zionist majority here - controlling security, the economy, forming coalitions. This is just around the corner.".

The former minister threatened: "Our children will not forgive us if in the name of politics we let this happen, if we are blind and do not take advantage of this one-time opportunity after the most difficult war we have known to make amends here.".

Hendel presented an extreme plan that would deny the right to vote to the Haredim. "The only thing that will save us is that those who don't serve get nothing. Not even the right to vote and be elected. No one decides here.".

He adds: "We're already fed up. We're fed up with carrying these sectors on our shoulders. Now, we're not allowed to say it outside, it sounds bad, it doesn't sound good, but there's no choice.".
