During a discussion held today (Monday) in the Special Committee for Strengthening the Negev and the Galilee on the loss of governance in the Negev, MK Sukkot confronted MK Walid Al-Huashla of the RAAM, after the latter claimed that the State Comptroller referred to Arab society in the report as a single entity and did not criticize government ministries.
MK Zvi Sukkot confronted Elwahashla and demanded that he call on residents of the Bedouin diaspora to cooperate with the police and law enforcement agencies in Israel. "You are a bunch of hypocrites, you encourage crime, and the problem is with your representatives who fight with the police. We will educate you, we haven't started yet. I warn you in the clearest way - one day the illegal weapons will turn on us.".
""Every penny the state puts into the development of society goes to criminals. There is a broad problem in society in the sector that, from their perspective, has no significance for the State of Israel, in every possible field. They are defrauding the National Insurance Fund, stealing everything that moves, electricity, communication cables, water. The amount of weapons smuggling is enormous to the point of an existential threat, the drug crops in the Diaspora have become a source of drugs for neighboring countries as well, the Air Force base in Nevatim is in existential danger, and I am sitting here sounding the alarm on all fronts.
"In war, one must use the tools of war.".
A police representative who participated in the discussion noted that the police suffer from a lack of cooperation from Bedouin society and ignore evidence at crime and murder scenes.
Following these words, MK Sukkot asked MK Elhavashla, who was sitting next to him, to clearly call on the public to cooperate with the police in order to prevent crime.
MK Elwahashla repeatedly refused MK Sukkot's request.
