
President Yitzhak Herzog will depart on Wednesday for a four-day official visit to Panama and Costa Rica, close friends and allies of the State of Israel.
The visit will be held on the occasion of the inauguration of the incoming President of Costa Rica, Laura Fernandez Delgado, following the official invitation of the outgoing President of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chavez Robles - both presidents are clear supporters of the State of Israel.
The President of the State will first conduct an official and historic visit - the first visit by the President of the State of Israel to Panama, a true friend of Israel and a member of the UN Security Council.
During the visit, the President will hold a diplomatic meeting with Panamanian President José Raúl Molina and his administration, where they will discuss deepening relations and promoting cooperation between the two countries. This follows their meeting at the World Economic Forum in Davos, during which it was agreed to continue the strategic relationship between the countries. The President will then hold an extensive meeting with the leaders and members of the local Jewish community.
From there, the President will continue to Costa Rica, where he will represent the State of Israel at the inauguration ceremony of the incoming President. As part of the visit, the President will meet with the incoming President for a diplomatic meeting and participate in a gala dinner for heads of state hosted by the outgoing President of Costa Rica.
In addition, the President will hold policy meetings with presidents and leaders from Central and South America and with leaders from around the world who will participate in the event.
Later, the President will hold a meeting with the leaders and members of Costa Rica's historic Jewish community.
