Ra'am Party Chairman MK Mansour Abbas said this evening (Saturday night) at an activists' conference that his party will run in the upcoming elections on a joint list.
According to him, the condition for a joint run is that the list be purely technical - a technical bloc - and will disband after the elections.
According to a report in Kan News, Abbas explained that this decision was intended to unite the electoral efforts of the Arab parties without striving for a political merger and without a unified platform among all the components of the list.
Meanwhile, this evening, the National Committee of Heads of Local Authorities issued an ultimatum to the Arab parties demanding the establishment of the Joint List by the end of May.
The party leaders will be summoned for a discussion after the Eid al-Adha holiday with the aim of resolving the disputes.
Although officials in the four parties have publicly expressed support for unifying the list, the future of the move has not yet been clarified. In addition, the National Committee has not said what the consequences will be if the ultimatum expires without a solution.
