A senior IDF official said today (Friday) that if, within the framework of the diplomatic negotiations with Iran, an agreement is not reached on the removal of enriched uranium and the cessation of uranium enrichment, Iran will quickly return to work on producing a bomb and the achievements of Operation Roar of the Harrier will go down the drain.

The senior official said: "We have achieved the military goals, but we must persevere so that there is no nuclear weapon in Iran. If the nuclear weapon is not achieved as a goal, then everything we have done in Iran will be one big failure - and we have achieved nothing. Even after we have attacked the missiles and the command posts and commanders, and created the conditions - the evil Iranian regime can attack the nuclear weapon after the war is over.".

The senior officer expressed doubt about the rationality of the Iranian regime's senior officials. "If the uranium leaves Iran through diplomatic means, we have done our part. We must exhaust the process to remove the nuclear material in a good way, and if not, we must launch another attack on Iran to achieve the goal and do it by force.".

The officer emphasized that this was the main goal of the operation and not just a signal or response move.

The senior official noted that during the war, Israel also attacked internal security targets in Iran, including checkpoints of the repressive forces and the Basij.

He said the attacks were intended to encourage the Iranian public to take to the streets. "As soon as it became clear to us that it wasn't working, we stopped it.".
