Authorities in North Macedonia announced today (Friday) that seven suspects have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to set fire to the Jewish community building in the capital, Skopje.
All those involved in the anti-Semitic act are expected to stand trial.
North Macedonia's Foreign Minister, Timko Muchonski, briefed Foreign Minister Gideon Saar on the matter.
The arson attempt in the capital of North Macedonia, which had until now been considered a "friendly and safe destination for Jews," occurred in early April.
This is an unusual anti-Semitic incident in the country.
The authorities, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, immediately condemned the incident and launched an investigation.
