The United States prosecution presented new evidence in the attempted assassination case that occurred this week at a White House Correspondents' event at a hotel in Washington.
The evidence includes security footage showing the suspect, Cole Thomas Allen, entering the building through a side door leading to the security checkpoint hallway.
The footage shows that a few moments after Allen enters, a police officer with a dog approaches the door and stands near it for about 12 seconds.
Immediately after the police officer left the scene, Allen was seen running with a weapon in his hand toward the entrance to the event, while about ten security personnel stood nearby.

One of the security guards seems to realize what is happening in a second, draws his weapon and opens fire at Allen as he passes by.
The remaining security personnel, along with additional forces, are seen drawing weapons and running in the direction in which the suspect fled.
During the recording, one of the Secret Service personnel involved in the incident was injured.
Another video submitted as evidence shows Allen walking freely through the hotel corridors before the attack.
