Northern Command Commander Major General Rafi Milo, and Home Front Command Commander Major General Shai Klapper, spoke today (Thursday) with heads of authorities in the north.
During the discussion, the commanders presented the operational situation assessment, reviewed the operational activity of the forces in the field, and discussed the gaps and key needs emerging from the residents, in order to maintain their security.
The commander of the Northern Command, Major General Rafi Milo, said: "Our forces are 10 kilometers deep in the area, on the order of 600 square kilometers. The purpose of our presence forward is to protect the residents, we went forward for that.".
""The forces on the ground are clearing the area of the enemy and infrastructure. More than 60 villages, it's a huge area. We don't intend to back down from the line. Our actions are a significant event, we still have a lot to do.".
""We are aware of the wind in the rear, this is a long war. We are conducting an ongoing assessment of the situation between some allowing and some closing. The assessment of the situation can change at any moment, we are prepared and ready to continue as long as necessary to dismantle the organization and believe that it will come, we will have to complete what we started.".
""In the command sector, we have complete freedom of action, operating, attacking, shooting, we killed 90 terrorists during the ceasefire.".
Commander of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Shai Klapper: "The civilian leadership here is at the highest level possible. We look at the situation through completely security lenses, the northern communities are at the center, and every decision is derived from the need to ensure the security of the residents.".
""The Home Front Command, the Northern Command and the local authorities are full partners in the process. We are working together, in coordination and with shared responsibility.".
