Extreme statements: Did the commander of the Ashkelon station lose all control in the face of the 'Jerusalem Faction' protesters who were arrested yesterday after they invaded the yard of the home of the commander of the military police, Brigadier General Yuval Yamin?
According to several testimonies, the station commander, Lt. Col. Eldad Elyashiv, stormed into the Kiryat Malachi station yesterday and spoke in extremely harsh words toward the protesters who were arrested.
According to a report today (Wednesday) by Tuvia Yagelnik, the police correspondent for Galei Tzahal, the deputy chief began shouting at them and swearing, in the presence of their lawyer, a rabbi and other officers: "*** *******, terrorists, worse than terrorists, you idiots, I came to make sure the job is done and you are coming up tomorrow for an extension of detention.".
The insults were repeated at least once more, to the point that other police officers at the station noted that the commander's style of speech was inappropriate.
The police responded to Galei Tzahal: "The issue was raised in the detention extension hearing, was denied, and a response was given.".
