About three weeks ago, the United States Customs and Immigration Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested, in the city of Lakewood, New Jersey, a 43-year-old Haredi man, a resident of Bnei Brak who had fled Israel - wanted on suspicion of committing serious crimes against children.

The suspect, who served as an educator and director of the 'Torat Chaim' yeshiva in the City of Torah and Hasidism, is suspected of committing a series of serious acts against minors in the years 2020-2023.

He fled Israel after a child first reported his actions to a staff member at the yeshiva boarding school.

The police investigation revealed that some of the incidents occurred in various places, including a hotel, during breakfast, at a water park, in a private car, and in an apartment he rented.

The yeshiva director fled Israel about a year and a half ago, shortly before an arrest warrant was issued for him. An international arrest warrant was later issued for him through Interpol.

He was recently found hiding in the Haredi community in Lakewood, where he was arrested at his home.

""We are committed to protecting New Jersey by strengthening border security and ensuring that the United States does not become a haven for fugitive criminals," a statement on the official website of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said. "The United States will not provide sanctuary to those who seek to evade responsibility.".

Law enforcement authorities in the United States began working to arrest the yeshiva director after receiving an extradition request from Israel.

According to a report on the Ynet website, the US court decided to keep him in custody, and he is expected to be extradited.
