The civilians, whose families were killed in the fighting in Bint Jbeil, were admitted to the area shortly after the ceasefire went into effect. To allow their entry, a "military" procedure was carried out by the brigade commander in the field.

This concerns a soldier serving in regular service in the IDF and three reservists who are not serving in the sector.

According to a report by Doron Kadosh on Galei Tzahal, the operation was carried out without authority and contrary to orders - and while the area was still defined as a combat zone.

A few days after the visit, a clash occurred at the same location between IDF forces and six armed terrorists.

The Chief of Staff defined the incident as serious and emphasized that the entry was made without operational necessity and at the risk of the lives of the participants and the security forces.

The commander of the Givati Brigade took responsibility for the incident and admitted that he acted on his own initiative. The Chief of Staff, who initiated the investigation, requested additional clarifications before deciding how to proceed.

The incident occurred against the backdrop of a similar incident in November 2024, when the Eretz Israel researcher Javo Erlich, who was killed in clashes with terrorists, was entered without permission, along with Golan fighter Gur Kehati, who was killed.

The IDF Spokesperson's Office responded: "A regular serviceman and three active reserve servicemen were introduced into southern Lebanon for non-operational purposes. Their introduction was carried out without the approval of the authorized echelons. The incident is being investigated.""
