Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened the government meeting this morning (Sunday) by addressing current events in Israel and around the world.

Netanyahu addressed the leak of the date of the attack in Iran to the media at the meeting - saying that this was a criminal leak for decades and that the incident was being investigated very seriously. Cabinet Secretary Fox responded: "The Shin Bet was also involved in the incident.".

In his opening remarks, Netanyahu referred to the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump: "Like you, my wife and I were shocked to hear about the repeated attempt to assassinate President Trump and his wife. We were glad that both of them, along with senior American administration officials, emerged unharmed.

""There is no place for violence. Not against political leaders, not against anyone. And that includes not only the United States - it includes first and foremost the State of Israel, including us.".

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the shocking murder in Petah Tikva: "I was shocked by the heinous murder in the pizzeria in Petah Tikva. They take a child, named Binyamin Zelka, and cut off his life. After that - wild incitement. We cannot accept this, we must stop it and cut it off while it is small.".

Netanyahu announced that he would meet immediately after the meeting with the Minister of Education and the Minister of National Security to examine enforcement and information measures in schools and homes: "We need to instill that this is a criminal act, to condemn it in every language of condemnation.".

Netanyahu dismissed criticism of inaction in Lebanon and made it clear that the IDF is acting forcefully: "We need to understand that Hezbollah's violations are actually disintegrating the ceasefire. What binds us is Israel's security, the security of our soldiers, and the security of our communities. We are acting vigorously according to rules that we agreed upon with the United States and also with Lebanon.".

According to him, Israel has complete freedom of action: "This means freedom of action not only to respond to attacks - that's clear - but to thwart immediate threats and also thwart emerging threats.".

He revealed that in the past two weeks, the Northern Command has eliminated 46 terrorists - and added: "We will act with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. We are not prepared to accept this riot. We will do what is necessary to restore security to the north.".
