The Rishon LeZion, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, delivered his weekly sermon tonight (Saturday night) at the Hizdim synagogue in Jerusalem, during which he said: "The missiles from Iran and Lebanon were intercepted thanks to the yeshiva students. If it weren't for the yeshiva students, Iron Dome wouldn't have been successful.".
A member of the Shas Council of Sages said in his class: "Precisely now, there is a very great incitement against the people of the Torah, incitement by people who hate religion and do not know how to understand, they want to destroy the world of the Torah. This is what one lawyer said to the judges, judges of the Supreme Court, he told them: 'They want to destroy the world of the Torah.' There is a very great incitement.".
At this point, he praised Argentine President Javier Millay, who visited the Hebron yeshiva: "And here comes the president of a country and you see how he praises the yeshiva students, how excited he is. It was right now that he should come and praise the yeshiva students and let the people of Israel know about it. Especially at a time like this when there is so much incitement, especially now that a president of a country of Gentiles comes and praises the yeshiva students! Be strong and courageous.".
The Chief of Staff added: "How did Iron Dome manage to intercept the missiles from Iran, from Lebanon? Thank God, some missiles were thrown at us, there were hits here and there, no doubt, but there should have been destruction from somewhere else. And here, an Arrow missile, Iron Dome, intercepted them. Thanks to what, they intercepted them? True, they are messengers of the Holy One, blessed be He, all those soldiers who make up the Iron Dome, but thanks to the yeshiva lads! If there weren't yeshiva lads, they wouldn't have succeeded with Iron Dome. They would have fallen on houses and destroyed entire neighborhoods, they would have eaten them, destroyed them.
""They need to know this, all these people are not, not religious. They need to be instilled with faith in the Holy One, blessed be He. To know that the Torah protects and heals. They protect the soldiers. Whoever loves the soldiers, truly loves them, needs to make sure that they are also Bnei Torah. That Bnei Torah is the one who sits and protects this.".
