Defense Minister Yisrael Katz held a situation assessment in Kirya this evening (Thursday) together with Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Director General of the Defense Ministry, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram, Head of Military Intelligence Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder, Head of the Military Intelligence Maj. Gen. Itzik Cohen, Head of the Joint Operations Command Maj. Gen. Hedi Zilberman, Commander of the IDF's Special Operations Command Maj. Gen. Shai Klepper, Operations Lieutenant Colonel Brigadier General Yisrael Shomer, Research Lieutenant Colonel Brigadier General Ofir Mizrahi-Rozen, and other senior officials in the defense establishment.
Minister Katz: "Israel is prepared to renew the war against Iran. The IDF is prepared for defense and attack, and the targets are marked.".
""We are waiting for the green light from the US - first and foremost to complete the elimination of the Khamenei dynasty - the initiator of the plan of destruction against Israel, and the successors of the leadership of the Iranian terrorist regime, and in addition to returning Iran to the dark and stone ages by blowing up the main energy and electricity facilities and crushing the national economic infrastructure.".
Katz added: "The terrorist regime in Iran specializes mainly in internal repression of the population through the Revolutionary Guards and the Basij, and in energy extortion, with the threat of raising world oil prices.".
About the Iranian regime, he said: "It is lying on the floor, its leaders are hiding in tunnels and have difficulty communicating and making decisions, its skies are wide open and all its national infrastructure and strategic facilities are vulnerable to attack - but it declares that it is winning.".
""Because just like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza, it doesn't care about the heavy prices paid by the population - the main thing is personal survival, which is also not guaranteed.".
The minister promised: "The attack this time will be different and deadly and will add devastating blows in the most painful places - following the enormous blows that the Iranian terrorist regime has suffered so far - that will shake and collapse its foundations.".
According to a report by Moti Castel on Channel 14, Netanyahu reprimanded the Knesset for issuing this announcement - without coordination.
Netanyahu: "I understand that we are in a primaries period, but this is not the time to make headlines without coordinating with me.".
