In recent weeks, Ofer Winter's name has been mentioned as a possibility for inclusion on the Likud list for the Knesset in the next elections - but it appears for now that the idea has been put on hold.
Likud sources who spoke to the Kippa website said that senior ministers expressed firm opposition to the move. According to them, it was a move that was not born from a deep ideological desire, but rather a tactical attempt to preserve votes - an attempt that failed even at the conceptual stage.
According to the same sources, the primaries in the party are already crowded. "What is the message being given? We have soul players who have worked for years for the Likud, and suddenly we bring in someone from outside to bypass them? It's impossible.".
Winter himself has not yet officially announced a run in any political framework, a move that leaves the door open for him in the various parties. But now at least one door has closed.
