Boxer Ruach Hashem Gordon, brother of boxer Ahavat Hashem, was scheduled to fight in the prestigious ONE tournament in Thailand next week - but was suddenly told that he could not fight with the Israeli flag, unlike the other competitors who could fight with the flags of their countries.
In response, according to the Channel 12 report, he announced the cancellation of the contract and his retirement from the fight.
A little over a month ago, his brother, Ahavat Hashem, defeated a Turkish opponent who defied him and Israel, and was received with great sympathy at the stadium in Lithuania where the fight was held, wrapped in the Israeli flag.
Ruach Hashem is 3 years older than Achivet Hashem. The two are sons of a family of warriors that has already entered the hearts of Israelis.
Channel 12 noted that it will now be interesting to see whether the family's fighters will also be prevented from going into battle with the Israeli flag.
The next fight will be on April 18th, when Love of God will go up for another fight for a black belt in Lithuania.
Minister of Culture and Sports Mickey Zohar praised the Gordon family, writing that they are "a family of athletes, warriors and patriots. Honor to the country.".
