Two brothers from the Jerusalem area posed as soldiers in 8200 and passed information to Iranian intelligence officials.
The indictment against them was filed in early February in the Jerusalem District Court - and was revealed this morning (Tuesday) after its details were allowed to be published following a complaint.'Here is the news.' And the Walla website.
The indictment states that the two brothers forged information and used artificial intelligence software to produce documents and information that they transmitted via Telegram to an Iranian agent named 'David' - and in return received more than 100,000 shekels.
One of the brothers, the main defendant in the case, used the false identity of a young man, whose ID card details and photo he stole from the Telegram app, and with them posed as a soldier in Unit 8200. Among other things, he claimed that the attack in Iran was supposed to take place in mid-January.
He also claimed to the Iranian agent that Israel was responsible for the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash in May 2024. When asked to prove his words, he used artificial intelligence to prepare a document that resembled a Unit 8200 document, containing details about the helicopter crash and information suggesting Israel's involvement in the incident.
The two brothers also provided details of an Iranian citizen and his identification documents, stating that he was involved in the assassination of senior Iranian military officials in Operation "Am Kalavi." The two created a fake script, using artificial intelligence, about the citizen's involvement, and detailed that he was involved in the surveillance of those senior military officials.
The Iranian agent said that the Iranian citizen was arrested, but his name was removed and that he felt cheated.
The main defendant is charged with the offenses of contacting a foreign agent, providing information to the enemy, providing information to the enemy that could be of benefit to him, and impersonating another person.
The second defendant is charged with the offense of jointly providing information to the enemy. The identities of the two are prohibited from publication, at the request of their defense attorney.
Attorney Ariel Atari told 'Kan News': "The indictment is outrageous. As the investigation material shows, these are two Zionist and patriotic brothers who sought to 'sting' the Iranians. The Jewish brain invents patents for us, as we know, and as loyal sons of the startup nation, they sold the Iranians information they invented using artificial intelligence - and in return, they took money from the Iranians.".
""Their intention was to harm the enemy and mislead him, and they succeeded in doing so. Instead of filing the indictment in this unnecessary case, the state should award them the Israel Prize for their contribution to the security of the state.".
