Maran HaGaradan Lando delivered encouraging words last night (Tuesday) at the Beit Midrash Elyon yeshiva in Bnei Brak on the occasion of the end of 'Winter Time'.
""Thank God, the world of Torah is flourishing, many thousands are engaged in Torah, despite the difficulties, despite the decrees, despite the wars, I have dwelt in the house of God all the days of my life.".
""There is no doubt that the Torah is the one that protects. According to the way of nature, there is no understanding of how we receive all the miracles that occur before our eyes. It is very bad that there are those who hinder the steps of those who study the Torah, and what do they want? To make a hole in the ship they are in?
""We need to know one main thing: we trust in the Holy One, blessed be He, we believe with complete faith that He watches over us and protects us. Of course, we must be careful and guard against evil influences, but we are in the hands of Heaven, and therefore there is no reason to live in fear and apprehension, and therefore there is also no reason to marvel at this or that thing as if it were, God forbid, in the hands of man.
""Everything is in the hands of Heaven, and our role is only to increase Torah and prayer in order to increase Heaven's mercy on the people who live in Zion.".
The yeshiva head added: "Now we are about to return home for the interregnum, which by nature are days of relaxation in Torah study. Anyone who is a yeshiva student cannot disconnect from the Torah, even during the interregnum.".
""But in days like these when we need much of God's mercy, the obligation to increase Torah study is doubled and multiplied, so that God forbid not even a single day goes by without a few hours of continuous Torah study, morning and evening. The people of Israel need our protection, that of the Torah students, who will protect them if not us?!
""Of course, we are obligated by the commandments to honor our father and mother, but above all, we must constantly remember our role, to increase our study of Torah, to live a life of Torah, and to sanctify the name of God - that people may say, Blessed is his teacher who learned Torah, blessed is his father who learned Torah.
""May the heads of yeshivahs, whose borders abound, be blessed with decent students throughout good days. And may we all be blessed with eternal salvation soon in our days, Amen.".
