Central District police and Border Guard soldiers today (Wednesday) arrested an Arab resident of Lod, in his 20s, on suspicion of spraying a PLO flag on the facade of the city's municipality building during Operation "The Roar of the Harrier.".
As part of the investigation, the station's investigators and detectives collected evidence, analyzed documentary evidence, and used additional means that led to the discovery of the suspect's identity.
Today, as mentioned, he was arrested and taken for questioning at the city's police station. The suspect is the son of a well-known public figure from the Arab sector.
The police stated that, in accordance with the findings and needs of the investigation, the suspect is expected to be brought to court tomorrow with a request to extend his detention.
Central District Commander, Chief Amir Cohen, said: "We will reach anyone who incites and strives against the State of Israel and the rule of law. No place is too far for our heroic police officers and fighters.".

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir arrived at the Lod police station this evening to reinforce the police officers after the arrest.
Ben Gvir said: "I congratulate the Israel Police, the commander of the Central District, Chief Superintendent Amir Cohen, and the commander of the Lod station, Chief Superintendent Meidad Lavie, for the swift and decisive action that led to the arrest of the suspect who sprayed a PLO flag on the Lod municipality building.".
He said, "The message is clear - those who incite, those who support terrorism, those who spray paint enemy flags - will face the harsh hand of the Israel Police. This is my policy, and I congratulate the police officers for their determined implementation on the ground. I have come to strengthen and support the dear police officers.".
