President Donald Trump gave interviews to the American media today (Monday) - in which he addressed the operation in Iran.
In an interview with CNN, the president issued a threat: "We haven't even started hitting them hard. The big wave hasn't happened yet. We're going to hit them hard. The operation is progressing very well. The big blow is still ahead of us and we'll land it soon.".
The president added: "We are concerned about the Iranian people and want everyone to stay home because it is not safe outside and may become even less safe soon.".
He told reporters for the New York Post that he did not rule out the possibility of sending ground forces to Iran - if necessary.
The American president also issued a statement to the media in which he detailed the reasons for launching the attack: "After Operation Midnight Hammer, we warned Iran not to try to rebuild its nuclear program, but they refused. They also developed their missile program in a way that threatened American bases and almost reached the ability to fire missiles at the United States," he said.
He added that the purpose of Iran's missile program was to protect its nuclear program. "An Iranian regime with nuclear weapons and missiles was an intolerable threat to the Middle East and to us," Trump continued. "I am proud to have canceled the nuclear agreement that former President Obama signed. I will not let them get a nuclear weapon.".
The president added, declaring: "We will win easily. We are already ahead of the schedule we set. We expected it to last four or five weeks, but we can also go beyond that.".
""They said I would quickly get bored of the war with Iran and stop with it. That's not true, I'm not bored of it, it's not boring at all.".
In another interview the president gave to Fox News, Trump said he was "very pleased" with the pace of progress in the campaign, which is moving faster than expected.
Trump stressed that the administration "always had a plan," and praised the level of American intelligence that, he said, allowed for a precise hit on the Iranian leadership. He claimed that 49 Iranian leaders were eliminated during the strikes, a process that he said was supposed to take about four weeks, but was completed faster than planned.
He also said that the United States "knew exactly what was happening and where," including details of a meeting of senior Iranian officials in the morning. He said that Iran is having difficulty forming an alternative leadership.
Trump hinted that there may be elements within Iran who will be resurrected from within, and noted that there is an organized plan for what will happen next, referring to the American attack on Venezuela as a possible model.
