President of the State Yitzhak Herzog visited the scene of the crash in Beit Shemesh today (Monday).

The president kissed the tefillin that survived the inferno.

Facing the rubble left after the direct hit of the missile, the president said: "We are here this morning at the scene of the disaster in Beit Shemesh, together with Mayor Shmuel Greenberg and the ZAKA personnel. I want to strengthen you, Mr. Mayor. You had a terrible night, for the entire people of Israel.

""Nine pure and righteous souls, innocent and innocent people who ran to the shelter, entered the shelter and acted according to the instructions, and unfortunately, because the missile fell directly on the roof of the shelter, the synagogue above it was completely obliterated. We see a very serious disaster scene here. It shows exactly who we are dealing with and what a bitter and cruel enemy we have.".

The president connected the difficult scene with the city's history: "Beit Shemesh was founded in this place. Beit Shemesh was a small town of immigrants, where everything started from, and today it is already a city of 200,000 people.".

Herzog addressed the families who lost their loved ones: "I know that the struggle is difficult, and we are all in Beit Shemesh this morning, and we wish to convey our condolences on behalf of the entire people of Israel to the grieving families. There are children here who perished, and there are mothers and women and men here. They all came innocently both to pray and to hide here from the Iranian missiles.".

The president referred to the war: "We are in a difficult campaign. This campaign is truly historic and important, and I say this to all the children of Israel, because I know that on Purim they wanted to be somewhere else, but we have no choice. In another hundred years, when, with God's help, they will be adults, the children will be able to say that this was a defining and historic moment, because the changes that this event will bring in the Middle East are great and immense and very important, and we are facing an evil empire whose wings have come to be clipped.".

Herzog sent a threatening message: "If they think, any of them, or any of their emissaries, that they can test us, I strongly suggest that they avoid it. We are very determined this time not to hold back or wait for anything. Our spirit is strong, and I ask to strengthen the entire Jewish people in this difficult moment. We will get through this in a way that will bring us a very big change in the region, also for the sake of Israel's security.".
