The persecution continues: The Legal Advisor to the Government, Gali Baharav-Meira, authorized the summoning of the Prime Minister to open testimony Benjamin Netanyahu In the 'Night Meeting' affair in the Kirya parking lot in Tel Aviv.
According to a report this evening (Wednesday) on Channel 13, in recent weeks several discussions have been held at the Attorney General's Office, at the end of which it was decided to comply with the police request to summon Netanyahu for open testimony - but not for questioning with a warning.
It should be noted that Netanyahu did not testify or was questioned in the Bild affair, and it is unclear whether he will also be questioned about it in his testimony.
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, MK Boaz Bismuth He responded on his X account: "While the prime minister is leading a historic diplomatic visit, the fired attorney general is making every effort to ignite a well-timed legal storm. Some are preoccupied with the country and some are obsessed with the prime minister.".
Moti Castel, Channel 14's political correspondent, reported that the prime minister is spending time with the Indian prime minister at an innovation exhibition in Jerusalem - and therefore is not involved, but those around him say: "What's new? After all, the police have been briefing for weeks that they intend to invite him to testify. Therefore, this incident reminds B-Y-C of what happened when Netanyahu was on the White House lawns at the historic meeting with Trump - when Mandelblit rushed to file an indictment against him.
""This is a vicious and vile, well-timed attempt designed to cloud the Prime Minister's mood and sabotage his achievements while he is working and making history for the State of Israel. We are not moved.".
This morning, the Lod District Court accepted the police appeal and ordered the extension of the restrictive conditions against the Prime Minister's chief of staff, Tzachi Braverman, until the discussion that will take place tomorrow.
The decision was made in the shadow of an extraordinary legal conflict and harsh mutual criticism between the President of the Magistrate's Court, Judge Menachem Mizrahi, and the district judge Michael Kershan.
Braverman's restrictive conditions expired at midnight last night. The police filed an appeal with the district court that Judge Mizrahi did not extend the conditions until the hearing date, which led the latter to criticize the police's "hastiness" in filing the appeal before his decision was made.
On the other hand, Judge Kershan, who ordered the extension of the terms, ruled that reasonable suspicion against Braverman had significantly strengthened and that there was significant cause for obstructing the investigation.
As part of the conditions, Braverman was prohibited from leaving the country, contacting the prime minister, or returning to his work at the bureau and in the district.
It is suspected that Tzachi Braverman received the information about the covert investigation into the classified documents affair as part of a process in the Prime Minister's Office. The way in which he received the information is still under a gag order.
The investigation began following a claim by Eli Feldstein According to which Tzachi Braverman summoned him to an urgent meeting on a Saturday night in early October 2024, about a month before he was arrested, and told him about a covert investigation regarding the leaking of a document to the German newspaper Bild, listed several of the suspects' names, and said that he could "turn it off" - if the investigation was related to the Prime Minister's Office.
Braverman categorically denies this.
