Tali Haruti Sober, a Haaretz journalist, published a post last night in which she addressed the headscarf of Ayelet Schlissel, spokesperson for the Nachala movement.

The journalist shared a photo of Schlissel from an article on Channel 13 and wrote: "Is that bird on her head for modesty purposes? Asking for a friend (Don't preach to us about modesty/keeping in touch/honor, daughter of a king, you empty carts. Come on).".

Husband Yitzhak Schlissel responded to her: "The one with the 'bird' is my sweet wife. I wish you the chance to reach the nail tip of her work. This is the strongest post that a lecturer and journalist in a newspaper manages to write for 'thinking' people when there are no intellectual arguments.".

""It's better to have a bird on your head than to be headless...""

Surfer Shai Abu responded: "It's not right for you, Tali. Know how to respect people with different backgrounds. How are you advancing the world with such a toxic post? Would you write a post like that about someone wearing a veil? Or whom do you respect more?""

Another user responded: "What is this post?? You should be ashamed of yourself for shaming a woman for her faith like that. You would never dare write like that about a woman wearing a hijab, would you?""

Ayelet Schlissel herself commented on the post on her X account today, attacking Heruti Sober: "I must say that this post made me smile this morning. The left understands that it has no more ideological arguments, it has no way of convincing the national public after October 7, so it goes where Haaretz journalists have always specialized - harming the symbols of the Jewish people.".

The 'Nahla' spokeswoman added: "And something from me to the journalist at the newspaper for people who think: Tali, it sounds better in German. And I know how crazy it is for you and your friends to see women of faith speaking in the media, so I'm just telling you that I am proud of the headscarf I wear, and I will continue to come to the studios with it, despite your anger and resentment!".
