The director of the Pardons Department at the Ministry of Justice, Attorney Limor Goldenberg Hadad, has been waiting for three months to receive the position of Attorney General Gali Baharav from Yara on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's pardon request.
According to a report this evening (Sunday) by Avishai Greenzig, the legal commentator for the i24 channel, during this period the Attorney General did not request the position of the prosecution and the position of the team handling the case, did not rule on the question of the Minister of Justice's conflict of interest - and in fact dealt only with the constitutional questions: whether Netanyahu's request can even be considered a request for clemency, and whether it is possible to request clemency at this stage while the trial is being conducted.
She has not yet decided on this either and has not conveyed her position.
This long wait is creating frustration in the Justice Ministry, especially among Goldenberg Hadad, who is beginning to lose her patience.
Her associates said that if the delay continues and the Attorney General does not convey her position in the coming weeks, she is expected to skip it and convey the opinion of the Pardons Department, without waiting any longer for the Attorney General's decision.
The director of the Pardons Department did not respond.
