Police and medical forces called to the scene provided initial medical treatment to the injured man, a resident of the city of Safed, and he was evacuated in moderate condition with serious injuries for further medical treatment at the hospital.
An initial investigation revealed that while providing medical treatment to the injured person, the suspected driver - a 17-year-old boy from Safed - who had never had a driver's license, along with his friend, disappeared the motorcycle involved in the accident, which is suspected to have been stolen.
The police officers who arrived at the scene began collecting evidence, taking testimonies, and conducting investigative actions. As the investigation progressed, and through the use of technological means, it became clear that the offending driver had independently sought medical treatment at the Ziv Medical Center, and even left the scene without receiving treatment.
A short time later, the suspect was located and arrested and transferred for further treatment and investigation to the Kinneret Region's examination unit.
As part of the investigation, he was questioned on suspicion of failing to provide details after an accident, obstructing investigation proceedings - and driving without a license.
