Amit Segal, Channel 12's senior political commentator, revealed today (Sunday) at the decisive conference of the 'Reservists of the Victory Generation', a dramatic moment that occurred in the first week of the war - when he transmitted an urgent warning to the Prime Minister's Office following a direct appeal he received from the northern border.

In his remarks during the conference, Segal told the audience about a call he received from Gilad Ach, the chairman of the movement, who was at that time stationed at Kibbutz Dan near the Lebanese border.

He described the conversation: "It was the first week of the war, and I received a phone call from Gilad Ah, and he told me I was in Kibbutz Dan. There is nothing against Hezbollah that separates him from invading Israel in this sector, I have to talk to someone.".

""A few people came to mind, the Minister of Defense didn't answer, so I left a message for the Prime Minister's Office, and I said to myself, I never do this, but there's some matter here that has nothing to do with journalism at all, and we said the Prime Minister must know. Three and a half minutes passed before there was a three-way WhatsApp conversation.".

Segal continued, wondering if "this is one of the things that caused the evacuation of the northern settlements. I don't know if you want that credit or not.".

Maj. (res.) Gilad Ach, chairman of the 'Reservists Generation of Victory': ''On October 7, I and my company, the entire brigade, were deployed to the northern border defense, when all the eyes of the country were on the south. I received a command between Rager and Har Dov, and the first thing I did was gather the infantry and tell them: Okay, now there's a Radwan force that wants to enter, where will they enter?

""They told me: Listen, they'll probably enter your sector. And actually from that moment, October 7, around eight in the evening, we started digging trenches, and putting up fences, filling avocado crates with sand and blocking all the entrances to the kibbutzim. And I remember a certain stage, where I said to my commander, 'Listen, if Hezbollah decides to attack, then we might have to die this week, but they won't get through to us.' And I said to myself: Okay, besides filling avocado crates with sand and putting them at the gates of the kibbutzim, what else can I do?

""Here I reached you and other friends, and we reached as high as possible. And indeed, later in the week, two lieutenant colonels arrived and said why are you bothering the prime minister in the middle of the night... and indeed, in the end, this move led to the elimination of Hezbollah positions in this sector and the establishment of the buffer line.".
