The Bnei Brak Municipality spread the news that Mayor Hanoch Seibert hosted the Spanish Ambassador to Israel, Francisca Pedros Quaretro, in his office, in the presence of his deputy, deputies, the CEO, and senior municipal officials.
But Jacob Wieder, a member of the city council, criticized the city leadership: "They are so incompetent that they don't even know who they are hosting. The ambassador to Israel was returned to Madrid because of the blood libel of 'genocide' that the anti-Semitic government in Spain is slandering us" - and this is not the ambassador at all.
Vider added and attacked: "I wonder who came to learn from whom - the failed and corrupt government in Spain came to learn the job from the rotten and corrupt government in the Bnei Brak municipality or vice versa.".
It should be noted that Spain has the most anti-Semitic and hostile government in Europe. In September 2025, the ambassador, Ana Maria Salomon Perez, was called back to Madrid - and has not been returned to Israel since.
The Bnei Brak municipality claims, in response, that the guest was the ambassador's deputy, Francisca Pedros Quaretro. "We were pleased to host the Spanish ambassador to Israel.".
