The family of the groom who collapsed last night (Monday) during his wedding in a function hall in Kibbutz Hulda are staying with him at Kaplan Hospital and trying to digest the difficult experience they went through.
The groom, 34, underwent CPR by a rescuer who was among the guests in the hall - until his heart stopped beating.
According to a report on Channel 12, he is expected to undergo a catheterization today. "His wife is collapsing and waiting for news," said the groom's sister.
""Everything happened in front of his wife, who hasn't been able to recover since," says the nurse. "There won't be a Shabbat celebration, she's collapsing and waiting for the news. It will take time to digest what we went through, the main thing is that he's with us - he'll get through this.".
The groom's brother-in-law told Channel 12: "He simply fell while dancing and had a cardiac arrest. Everything was beautiful and suddenly during the dancing he collapsed.".
According to him, a medic who was at the wedding tried to save his life, but the guests and family were in complete panic: "We saw a body. It was a great miracle that after a few minutes they managed to revive him, and from there they took him to the hospital and he has been sedated ever since.".
Ben Sinai, a United Hatzalah medic who was one of the guests, said: "I was in the hall as one of the guests at the wedding event. Suddenly, I saw commotion and shouts for help and noticed the groom who had collapsed and had a heart attack. I immediately called for help and began CPR with the assistance of other medics, including using the event hall's defibrillator. After prolonged CPR, and miraculously, his heart started beating again, he was taken to the hospital.".
