The Iranian website 'Noor News', which is close to the ayatollahs' regime, claimed today (Tuesday) that the American aircraft carrier 'Abraham Lincoln' has withdrawn, and is now about 1,400 kilometers southeast of the country.
According to the website, Washington held back from attacking, as "the US fears a strong response from Iran.".
Iranian President Masoud Pazakhian wrote today on his X network account that the agreement to hold negotiations with the US came following a request from friendly governments in the region.
The Iranian president wrote on his account that he had instructed Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to "prepare for negotiations on a just and fair basis that will uphold the principle of respect" and "provided there is an appropriate atmosphere, free from threats and unreasonable demands. Negotiations with the United States will take place within the framework of Iran's national interests.".
