In the heart of the Ben Shemen Forest is a small tombstone that attracts thousands. They light candles and ask for salvation from Mattathias ben Yochanan, the High Priest, father of the Hasmonean dynasty.
But now it turns out that this was just a joke: the grave was marked about 20 years ago by four young men from the Tzevin yeshiva, who were eager to have a joke, with cement, gravel and a lot of humor.
Ariella Sternbach-Marsky met the creator of the joke - who admits: "We wrote something that would look professional, we were shocked that it worked.".
