The State Attorney's Office filed an indictment today (Thursday) in the Jerusalem District Court against Avinoam Mizrahi, 26, a resident of Moshav Shafir, who kidnapped the late Moshe Tzabri, stabbed him, pushed him while still alive into a deep, abandoned well - and caused his death.

According to the indictment, filed through attorney Yael Igra of the Jerusalem District Attorney's Office, Mizrahi planned the actions in advance, followed the deceased for days in and outside Jerusalem, and in order to carry out his plan, he also prepared in advance to cover his tracks and have full control over the course of the event.

On the day of the incident, he forced the deceased to travel with him from his place of residence in Jerusalem to an isolated area, where he stabbed him, seriously injured him, and then pushed him into a deep, abandoned well dozens of meters deep, while he was still alive.

After that, according to the indictment, Mizrahi drove the deceased's car to the Angels' Forest and set the vehicle on fire, in order to cover his tracks and make it difficult to locate the deceased.

The indictment accuses Mizrahi of committing the offenses of intentional murder under aggravated circumstances, kidnapping for murder, arson, possession of a knife, destruction of evidence, and invasion of privacy.

At the same time, upon filing the indictment, the prosecution asked the court to order Mizrahi's arrest until the end of the legal proceedings against him, given the seriousness of the acts, the danger posed by him, and the real fear of obstruction of legal proceedings.

In the arrest request, Attorney Yael Igra stated: "The investigation material indicates that there is concern that releasing the respondent from detention will lead to disruption of legal proceedings, given the fact that the respondent had a one-way flight ticket to Paris for December 30, 2025, with which he planned to leave the country.".

Attorney Ravit Zilberfarb, who represents the deceased's family on behalf of the Ministry of Justice's legal aid, said: "The deceased's family is shocked and appalled by the brutal murder, committed by the cousin of the deceased's estranged wife, without any apparent motive, and trusts law enforcement agencies to act to bring justice and bring about an investigation of the truth. The family is busy grieving and asks to avoid interpretations regarding the circumstances surrounding the murder, which are still not fully understood, even by the family.".
