The chairman of Religious Zionism and Minister of Finance, MK Bezalel Smotrich, addressed reports today (Monday) at the start of his faction's meeting about the decline of external candidates to head it.

According to him, these are baseless publications. "All the publications are spin that did not exist and were not created," said Smotrich in response to a question from Channel 7. "The entire religious Zionist faction is busy with action - budget, settlement, legal legislation, immigration. No one here has time to engage in politics.".

He added: "We are currently accumulating tremendous achievements and accomplishments - people, land, Torah for the one who sent us. Religious Zionism will continue to be a large, vibrant, significant and very dominant party in the State of Israel and in the Israeli government for many, many years.".

Regarding the Hasmonean Brigade conference that was blown up by the Peleg in Bnei Brak, he said: "The conference was disrupted by a handful of violent rioters who attacked the heroic fighters and commanders of the brigade. I ask to strengthen the fighters and commanders of the brigade. Do not look down and do not belittle them. You are on the right side of history. I condemn in every way the handful of violent rioters and call on the Haredi Knesset members to stop sitting on the fence and say clear things and unequivocally condemn this serious and outrageous violence.".
