In response to a question from a Knesset member, the Ministry of Education admitted that despite the announcements about enforcing core studies in Haredi education, the funds of institutions that violated their obligations have not yet been offset.

The meaning: The state transferred a budget intended for educating children in math, English, and science to non-profit organizations that did not meet the requirements - and it remained there.

According to a report in Israel Hayom, the Ministry of Education's response explicitly stated that as of the current school year, "the offset process has not yet been completed" with the violating institutions, and that the issue is "still under review by professional bodies.".

Another piece of information revealed in the response is that 22 schools from the "Independent Education" and "Bnei Yosef" chains were sent a license cancellation letter after they did not meet the basic curriculum and did not teach mandatory subjects.

But these institutions will not be closed: instead, the Ministry of Education is allowing them to move to 'exempt institution' status, which allows them to receive a reduced budget from the state, but without the close supervision of the ultra-Orthodox networks.
