Who said technology is always better? A Chinese demolition company offers its clients a method that may seem somewhat antiquated, given technological advancements: demolishing the building by a single worker, using a hammer and chisel.
And if you were wondering what the demolition rate is? One brick at a time.
Chong Lei, CEO of the slightly strange company, explains to the Daily Mail website the rationale for the company he founded: "Concrete chimneys that rise to a height of tens of meters require a huge amount of explosives. These materials are very expensive, and paying a single worker who destroys the structure at his own pace is significantly cheaper." Lei mentions that in addition to the expensive explosives, an explosives expert must also be paid, who demands a high sum for his expertise.
But even Lay admits that his solution is impractical for those interested in a rapid demolition pace. Surprisingly, Lay has received dozens of orders from people who want to demolish their unnecessary buildings, but don't want to pay the very high sums compared to Lay's hammer and chisel offer.
