Aviv Maor, 19, from Ein Harod Ichud, and Shimshon Midrach, 69, from Beit Shean, were murdered in a combined attack carried out by a terrorist from Qabatiya in northern Samaria.
The terrorist, Ahmed Abu Alroub, 37, from Qabatia, was neutralized and moderately wounded at the entrance to Afula.
The family of Shimshon Mordechai, the late Shimshon, issued a statement on Saturday night: "Our father, Shimshon, was first and foremost our father and a loving grandfather to his six grandchildren. He was married to our mother Sarah for 42 years of togetherness, love and great joy, and together they raised a wonderful family.
""He was a man of values, a family man in the full sense of the word, a man who always made sure that we lacked nothing. A religious man, observant of the commandments, who lived a life of giving, faith and love for others. We have been dealt a severe and great blow. We ask to honor the family's grief and pain during this time.".
Aviv Maor's family said: "She was a beautiful girl, full of light with a huge heart. Everyone who met her on the road fell in love with her smile and sweetness. Her whole life was full of compassion and love for the weak, children and injured animals. Horses and dogs were her life. She was an amazing daughter and an amazing sister and always protected her siblings in every situation.".
The attack began in Beit She'an, where the terrorist ran over a 16-year-old boy who was slightly injured, and then ran over Shimshon Mordechai to death. The terrorist continued his journey and reached the Tel Yosef intersection, where he got out of his vehicle and stabbed Aviv Maor to death.
From there, the terrorist continued his journey towards Afula, and at the Dormitory Junction, he ran over a 37-year-old man who was taken to the hospital in moderate condition. At the same junction, an armed citizen neutralized the terrorist, an illegal Palestinian resident from the city of Qabatia in northern Samaria who carried out the attack with a vehicle belonging to his employer.
The police announced that the investigation revealed that the terrorist was staying at the nearby Kibbutz Mesilut, along with his employer, took his vehicle and set out on his killing spree.
The employer, a resident of Araba, was arrested by the Northern District police.
The terrorist's two brothers and father were also arrested.
